#408 Wai Wah Chin - Affirmative Action is Racist

אודות הפרק

The US Supreme Court has ruled that universities cannot consider a prospective student's race when deciding admission. Todays guest, Wai Wah Chin has submitted the initial petition to the court and has been leading the case

Every “plus” on one student’s college application translates to a “minus” on another student’s application. In the process of boosting the applications of so-called “underrepresented minorities,” admissions offices routinely penalize Asian-American applicants, dismissing their diligence and hard work as a “lack of personality.” How did the widespread discrimination against Asian-American students arise in American higher education? Why has the plight of these minority students been so disregarded by progressives?

Wai Wah Chin, an adjunct fellow at the Manhattan Institute, is the founding president of the Chinese American Citizens Alliance of Greater New York, an all-volunteer organization advocating for equal rights for New Yorkers, especially in education.

A graduate of Yale, Princeton, and Columbia, Chin is a relentless advocate for the Chinese American Community, with a professional background in private equity. Her work at the Institute will advance her support of school choice and address issues faced by Asian Americans in New York
